Rapid thermal cracking is a process that can convert solid waste or biomass into liquid, solid and gas products with higher energy density.

During this research, the vacuum pyrolysis was set up using horizontal fixed batch reactor and waste plastic was heated from inside.

The main research parameters are waste plastic composition, temperature, heating rate, cooling system and residence time.

The product from this research are gas, liquid, and wax. The gas products are mainly CO2, CO, H2 and CH4. The liquid products were described by cumulative amount distribution, paraffin, olefin, naphthene and aromatic (PONA) distribution and molecular weight distribution.
